On 5 April 2013, ElectraNet submitted an application to the AER seeking a determination, with respect to the proposed South Australia–Victoria (Heywood) Interconnector Upgrade, that the preferred option satisfies the regulatory investment test for transmission (RIT-T).
On 4 September 2013, in accordance with the requirements under clause 5.16.6 of the National Electricity Rules, the AER published its determination on whether the preferred option identified in the Heywood Interconnector Upgrade satisfies the RIT-T. The AER's determination is that the preferred option was correctly identified and therefore satisfies the RIT-T.
ElectraNet may now submit to the AER a contingent project application under clause 6A.8.2 of the National Electricity Rules to amend its 2013-2018 revenue determination to account for the costs of the South Australian component of the project.
