The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has published its standardised models for the alternative control services (ACS) relating to metering and ancillary network services.
These models can now be used by electricity distributors for their revenue reset determinations.
The standardised metering and ancillary network service models will streamline the resources and consultation required for the assessment of ACS expenditure proposals and setting prices, increase consistency across proposals, and provide greater transparency to stakeholders.
We have released final decision papers alongside the standardised ACS models, which includes changes we made in response to stakeholder feedback.
The development and implementation of the standardised models follows our commitment in the AER Strategic Plan 2020–2025 to explore ways to develop and shape systems to help deliver efficient regulation.
Further to the standardised ACS models, we developed a standardised model for standard control services capital expenditure which we published in December 2021.
