The standardised SCS capex model is intended to replace the distributor-specific capex models that are currently in use.
Capex models map forecast capex into a format consistent with the post-tax revenue model (PTRM), which is used to calculate the annual revenue requirement for each year of a regulatory control period. The standardised SCS capex model streamlines the resources and consultation required to manage the SCS capex models and increases consistency across proposals.
We have released an explanatory note alongside the standardised SCS capex model, which includes changes we made in response to stakeholder feedback.
In a separate process, we are currently undertaking a review of our regulatory information notices (RINs). When the new RINs are released, we will update the standardised SCS capex model released to reflect any changes to the RIN capex categories. We aim to align the revised RIN capex categories and the AER capex categories and streamline the standardised SCS capex model further.
