On 4 February 2016, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) accepted an application from Vicinity Asset Operations Pty Ltd for an individual exemption from the requirement to hold a retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law.
This application replaces the application made by Novion Property Group Pty Ltd in July 2015.
On 16 March 2016, Vicinity withdrew this application and reapplied for an individual exemption to sell energy at the same site in the name of Vicinity Funds RE Ltd.
On 24 May 2016, Vicinity registered an R1 retail exemption for this site upon obtaining the explicit informed consent of all tenants.
