On 30 April 2002, VENCorp lodged an application with ACCC outlining it proposed revenue cap to be applied to the non-contestable elements of the transmission network. The ACCC's review set the revenue cap for non-contestable transmission network services provided by VENCorp for a period of 5 1/2 years.
On the 11 January 2002, the ACCC, in accordance with its responsibilities under the national electricity code, finalised its decision on the appropriate revenue cap to apply to the Victorian electricity transmission network, owned and operated by SPI PowerNet and planned by VENCorp.
The decision outlines the maximum revenues that may be earned by SPI PowerNet's transmission network for the five and a quarter year period from 1 January 2003 to 31 March 2008. The decision also outlines the maximum revenues that may be earned by VENCorp for the five and a half year period from 1 January 2003 to 30 June 2008.
