On 28 February 2017, Power and Water Corporation submitted to the AER an annual pricing proposal for the Northern Territory electricity distribution network for the period 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. The AER's assessment of Power and Water Corporation's pricing proposal occurs under the Electricity Networks (Third Party Access) Code (Network Access Code) and not the National Electricity Rules. Under the Network Access Code, the AER is not responsible for approval of prices classified as alternative control services.
On 29 March 2017, the AER approved Power and Water Corporation's 2017-18 pricing proposal. This was after assessing that it complied with the Network Access Code.
