The Registrant’s exemption from the requirement to register as a network service provider and the operation of Chapter 5 of the NER has now come into effect. The exemption was granted under clause 2.5.1 of the NER in accordance with the AER’s Electricity NSP Registration Exemption Guideline (Network Exemption Guideline) and is subject to a number of conditions.

Network conversion (creation of an embedded network at a site with existing energy consumers)
On 3 April 2024, the AER issued REGION OPERATIONS PTY LTD / ABN 83 160 890 433 a Notice of Acceptance permitting it to register network exemptions for this site having met the network conversion eligibility criteria specified in the Network Exemptions Guideline.
The registrants of this exemption must comply with the network conversion conditions set out in the Network Exemptions Guideline, in addition to the core conditions for the registered exemption classes.
The registrant nominated an effective date of 19 January 2025.
