On 5 November 2024, the AER published the final Wholesale Market Monitoring Guideline (the Guideline) and Explanatory Statement.

The Guideline sets out the scope of our wholesale market monitoring functions, and the collection and reporting of information related to these functions.

The Explanatory Statement summarises the issues raised by stakeholders in our consultation process on the Draft Guideline. We provide our responses to these issues, including noting where our position has changed from the Draft Guideline and providing an explanation where our position is different from positions expressed by stakeholders.

Our responses to stakeholder feedback have been informed by our intent for the Guideline to be an enduring document.

Version 1.0 of the Guideline takes effect on 5 November 2024.
