On 5 May 2023 the AER released an issues paper: Review of gas distribution network reference tariff variation mechanism and declining block tariffs – issues paper for stakeholder feedback.
Release of the issues paper is the first step in our review of how gas distribution reference tariffs are varied from year to year and their structure.

On Thursday 8 June 2023, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) hosted an online public forum on our Review of gas distribution tariff structures. The forum was held at 9:00am – 10:30am (AEST) via Microsoft Teams and was chaired by AER Deputy Chair, Jim Cox.
AER staff presented material from the Issues paper. We were also joined by a range of external stakeholders who presented their perspectives on the Review. The list of speakers included:
