On 16 December 2022, Energex submitted an application to the AER under clause 6.6.1 (a1)(5) of the National Electricity Rules for a positive pass through of costs related to the 22 February to 7 March 2022 South East Queensland floods. Energex's application proposes to recover $17.03 million from electricity users through an increase in distribution prices in the 2024-25 regulatory year, that is, from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
