Today the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) published its objectives and priorities that will guide our network service performance reports for the electricity and gas network service providers (NSPs) we regulate. Our next report, to be released later this year, will cover the performance of regulated electricity networks for regulatory year 2019.
The objectives and priorities have been informed by stakeholders through our consultation paper published in March. All submissions received are public and have been published.
This is the first time we have developed objectives and priorities for reporting on the performance of regulated gas networks. We intend to commence performance reporting for gas NSPs in 2021. It is also the first time we have revisited our electricity network reporting objectives and priorities since they were published in 2011.
We expect to review these objectives and priorities no later than 2025, to check they remain fit for purpose.
