Today the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has released a consultation paper to help inform the objectives and priorities that will guide our network service performance reports for the electricity and gas network service providers (NSPs) we regulate.

Our current objectives and priorities for electricity NSP performance reporting were published in 2011.

While we currently do not prepare network performance reports on regulated gas networks, we intend to commence this reporting in 2021.

We are consulting on both electricity and gas network performance reporting priorities and objectives through a combined process.

Stakeholders are invited to make written submissions to the AER in response to the consultation paper by 31 March 2020. Submissions should be emailed to networkperformancereportingataer [dot] gov [dot] au. Alternatively, submissions can be sent to:

Mr Warwick Anderson

The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text-readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process.

Submissions will be treated as public documents unless otherwise requested. Parties wishing to submit confidential information should:

  • clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim
  • provide a non-confidential version of the submission in a form suitable for publication.

All non-confidential submissions will be placed on our website. For further information regarding our use and disclosure of information provided to us, see the ACCC/AER Information Policy.
