The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has extended the lodgement date for Ausgrid’s and Endeavour Energy’s 2019-24 regulatory proposals by three months, to 30 April 2018.
Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy have committed to submit proposals that include base operating expenditure at or below the 2017-18 forecast for the businesses in the AER's set aside determination and a return on capital consistent with the AER’s 2013 Rate of Return Guideline. They have also committed to undertake more extensive customer and stakeholder engagement – especially in relation to capital expenditure programs prior to lodgement of their respective proposals.
While this shortens the time the AER has to review the proposals, we consider that our assessment can be completed within the revised timeframe, consistent with our usual consultative and robust processes.
These commitments from Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy have been informed by constructive discussions with the AER and consumer representatives.
