On 30 April 2019, the AER published its final decision on the electricity determination for NSW distribution network service provider, Ausgrid, for the 2019-24 regulatory control period commencing 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2024.
On 8 January 2019, Ausgrid submitted its revised regulatory proposal for the 2019-24 period.
On 1 November 2018, the AER published its draft decision for Ausgrid for the 2019-24 period. On 14 December 2018, the AER also published its draft decision on Ausgrid's transmission pricing methodology in relation to Ausgrid's electricity distribution determination for the 2019-24 period.
Updates
Alternative Control Services
On 16 July 2019, the AER revoked the 30 April 2019 determination and substituted it with a new determination to correct errors in the metering prices listed in table 15-10 of Attachment 15 - Alternative Control Services and the Public Lighting - Pre-2009 Fixed Charge Model. All other aspects of the determination remain as per the AER's 30 April 2019 final determination.
Tariff Structure Statement amendment
On 30 September 2019, Ausgrid submitted a request to the AER to approve an amendment to its Tariff Structure Statement to include new network tariffs to apply to certain embedded network customers. On 28 February 2020, the AER released its decision to not approve Ausgrid's proposed amendment. As a result, Ausgrid's current Tariff Structure Statement continues to apply.
Control Mechanisms
On 25 March 2021, the AER revoked the 16 July 2019 determination and substituted it with a new determination to correct an error in the control mechanisms attachment to facilitate an appropriate transition to the latest version of the service target performance incentive scheme. All other aspects of the determination remain as per the AER’s final determination which was originally made on 30 April 2019 and previously substituted on 16 July 2019.
Pricing methodology
On 31 January 2023, the AER published its final decision on transmission pricing methodologies with amendments for system strength pricing (approved amended pricing methodology). The approved amended pricing methodology supersedes the pricing methodology approved in the AER’s 30 April 2019 final determination. All other aspects of the determination remain as per the AER’s 30 April 2019 final determination.
