The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has published an annual benchmarking report that examines the relative efficiency and productivity of the transmission electricity network service providers.
Our economic benchmarking techniques were originally developed in 2013 and 2014. As part of our ongoing improvement to economic benchmarking, we are refining elements of the benchmarking methodology and data in consultation with industry and other interested parties.
Our first step of this review is to seek written submissions on our transmission benchmarking issues paper. This issues paper summarises the key issues we are examining and ask questions for input from interested parties.
Invitation for submissions
Interested parties are invited to make written submissions on the issues paper. Please email your submission to evan [dot] luttonaer [dot] gov [dot] au (evan[dot]lutton[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) by close of business 24 May 2017. Alternatively, you can post a hard copy of your submission to:

We prefer that all submissions be publicly available to facilitate an informed and transparent consultative process. Submissions will be treated as public documents unless otherwise requested. Parties wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:
- clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim
- provide a non-confidential version of the submission in a form suitable for publication.
