The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has today released for consultation draft Electricity Transmission Network Service Providers Information Guideline (Version 2) with an accompanying Explanatory Statement.
The Information Guideline sets out the information that a transmission business must include in its annual statement to the AER. We reviewed the current Information Guideline and found some reporting obligations are now duplicated in the Better Regulation regulatory information notices. Further, other reporting requirements are now redundant or not aligned with the current regulatory framework. To address these issues we propose amending the Information Guideline to rationalise the annual reporting requirements for transmission businesses.
