On 25 March 2024, the AER published its revocation and substitution determination in relation to aspects of our final decision on SA Power Network’s electricity distribution determination for the 2020–25 regulatory control period.

On 5 June 2020, the AER published its final decision for the South Australian electricity distribution provider, SA Power Networks, for the 2020–25 regulatory control period commencing 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2025.

On 31 January 2019, SA Power Networks submitted its revenue proposal to the AER. The proposal sets out the revenue SA Power Networks proposes to collect from its customers through distribution charges from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2025.

Revocation and substitution determination

The AER released its determination to revoke and substitute SA Power Network’s electricity distribution determination for the 2020–25 regulatory control period on 25 March 2024. This was because a material error was identified relating to cable and conductor minor repairs impacting our operating and capital expenditure decisions. This had flow on impacts to revenues, the Demand Management Innovation Allowance Mechanism allowance and Service Target Performance Incentive Scheme incentive rates.

Final decision

Following consultation with stakeholders, the AER decided to delay its final 2020–25 network revenue determinations due on 30 April 2020 and released its final decision on 5 June 2020.

Draft decision

On 8 October 2019 we released our draft decision on SA Power Networks' regulatory proposal for the 2020–25 regulatory control period, commencing 1 July 2020. The draft decision represented a key milestone in our determination of the amount of revenue that SA Power Networks can recover from customers who use its network.
