From 1 December 2017, network exemption holders may have to become or appoint an ENM.

An ENM is a role accredited by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).

The ENM's purpose is to assist customers in your embedded network to access energy offers from electricity retailers. This will involve:

  • registering a NMI (National Metering Identifier) for the customer
  • ensuring the customer's meter is accurately recorded in the national MSATS (Market Settlement and Transfer Solutions) system.

i.e. A customer within your embedded network that has an energy contract with an authorised/licensed retailer that operates through the wholesale market, not through onselling.
