On 4 May 2020, we received an application from Total Gas & Power Australia Pty Ltd (TGPAU) to cancel the individual exemption it was granted on 6 March 2015, on the grounds it is no longer required as TGPAU has applied for a retailer authorisation.
Invitation for submissions
Following the process set out in section 9.1 of the AER Exempt Selling Guideline, we are now seeking submissions from interested stakeholders on TGPAU's application to cancel the exemption by Tuesday 2 June 2020.
Submissions should be emailed "Attention: Sarah Proudfoot, General Manager, Consumers and Markets Branch" at AERexemptionsaer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERexemptions[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) with the following title in the email:

We will take into account submissions in deciding whether or not to cancel TGPAU's exemption.
The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:
- clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
- provide a non-confidential version of the submission.
