On 19 May 2016 we received two applications from Energex seeking waivers from s. 6.1(b) of the Queensland Distribution Ring Fencing Guidelines (the Guidelines). These relate to installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) unit and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Energex's Eagle Farm Distribution Centre and a mobile educational exhibit incorporating solar PV and BESS.

Invitation for submissions

We invite written submissions on Energex's applications as required by the Guidelines. Submissions should be emailed to AERinquiryataer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERinquiry[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) before COB on Thursday 16 June 2016.

Submissions should be emailed “Attention: Chris Pattas, General Manager, Network Investment and Pricing Branch” with the following title in the email: Energex application for ring fencing waiver.

The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:

  • clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
  • provide a non-confidential version of the submission.
