The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has released the final Electricity Transmission Network Service Providers Information Guideline (Version 2) and accompanying Explanatory Statement.
We have rationalised the annual reporting requirements for transmission business by removing reporting obligations which are now duplicated in the Better Regulation regulatory information notices. Further, other reporting requirements that are redundant or not aligned with the current regulatory framework have also been removed.
The AER is required, under Chapter 6A of the National Electricity Rules (NER), to develop an information guideline which sets out the information that a transmission business must include in its annual statement to the AER.
The amended Information Guideline was released for consultation and we received one submission. The submission was taken into consideration when preparing this final Information Guideline.
