The AER will hold two public forums in early 2015 in light of strong stakeholder interest in its issues paper in relation to regulating innovative energy selling business models under the Retail Law published on 18 November 2014.
The purpose of the forums is to obtain stakeholders’ views on the issues identified in the paper.
Forum details
Sydney forum
The first forum will be held in the AER's Sydney office on Thursday 29 January 2015, commencing at 11am with connections to its Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane offices via videoconferencing. AER Board member Mr James Cox will chair the forum.
Melbourne forum
The second forum will be held in the AER's Melbourne office on Thursday 5 February 2015, commencing at 10am. This meeting will also be connected to the AER's Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane offices via videoconferencing. AER Board member Mr James Cox will also chair this forum.

Extension of consultation period
The AER has decided to extend the consultation period for the issues paper as a consequence of the forums. Written submissions are now due by Thursday 16 February 2015.
