On 29 December 2010, Endeavour Energy (formerly known as Integral Energy) requested the AER to determine how it is to report on its recovery of Solar Bonus Scheme (SBS) payments for each year of the current regulatory control period, and on adjustments for over and under recovery of such payments. This request is the first of a number of steps that must be taken before Endeavour Energy can recover the costs of SBS rebates through its pricing proposals in the current regulatory control period.
The NER requires the AER to make a determination on the request within 60 business days of its receipt. On 24 March 2011, the AER published its determination on how Endeavour Energy should report on its recovery of SBS payments and make adjustments for overs and unders. The AER determined that Endeavour Energy should do so in accordance with Endeavour Energy’s proposal.
The AER’s decision means that Endeavour Energy now has the option to elect to recover the costs of SBS rebates through its pricing proposals in the current regulatory control period. In order to do so Endeavour Energy must first notify the AER in writing of its intention to recover SBS rebates in its pricing proposals, and the AER must accept Endeavour Energy’s election to do so.
