Overview

Final determination

On 25 May 2023 the AER released its final determination on the Default Market Offer (DMO) prices for 2023–24.

Appendix C of our final determination contains the daily usage information set out in 30-minute intervals, for the purposes of calculating annual prices for residential Time of Use (TOU) customers.

Consultant reports

ACIL Allen Consulting has supported us in the design of a forecasting approach for wholesale and environmental costs. A report, Wholesale energy and environment cost estimates for DMO 5 final determination, by ACIL Allen Consulting was published alongside the final determination on 25 May 2023.

We have published a spreadsheet of ACIL Allen’s modelling data for the cost of energy for interested stakeholders to understand its forecasts. The information contained in the modelling data is also set out in the ACIL Allen report for our final determination.

Models

The cost assessment model (the model) calculates the wholesale electricity, network and environment regulation costs faced by retailers for 2023–24 for each area and customer type. We have provided the model for stakeholders interested in understanding how we have applied these inputs to calculate the DMO price. The information contained in the model is also set out in the DMO 2023–24 final determination.
