Market Monitoring Information Order – Electricity Order – MMIO-ELEC-2025-01

The AER is seeking stakeholder feedback on our draft Market Monitoring Information Order MMIO-ELEC-2025-01 (the draft Order) by 20 December 2024. 

The draft Order includes information on the classes of persons to which the draft Order applies, the information required to be provided to the AER and associated due dates, and the reasons the AER requires this information. We have also published draft submission templates in which relevant data must be provided. The accompanying Explanatory Statement contains supporting information including how we have addressed stakeholder feedback to date and questions for stakeholder feedback.

The draft Order follows the publishing of our Wholesale Market Monitoring and Reporting Guideline, which sets out our general approach to our expanded functions in monitoring and reporting on wholesale gas markets, and electricity and gas contract markets.

We are currently seeking stakeholder feedback on the draft Order, with particular interest in views on:

• the burden associated with the draft Order
• the clarity and contents of the draft Order
• the proposed submission portal.

We invite stakeholders to provide submissions by 20 December 2024.
