Framework and approach

On 31 January 2019 the AER released its final framework and approach (F&A) papers for AusNet Services, CitiPower, Jemena, Powercor and United Energy for the 2021-25 regulatory control period.

Extension of regulatory control period - Project administration

The Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change has written to the AER and the Victorian distribution businesses indicating the government’s intention to change the timing of the annual Victorian electricity and gas network prices changes. The change would bring Victoria into alignment with the other NEM states to operate on a financial –rather than calendar- year basis. The intention is for this change to come into effect for the next regulatory control period. This will mean extending the current regulatory period by 6 months. Whilst the change still requires passage through Victorian parliament to give effect through legislation, the AER has responded to correspondence from the distribution businesses regarding compliance under the NER.

Extension of regulatory control period - Correspondence

On 17 August 2020, the AER provided correspondence to United Energy in relation to the six-month extension period. This letter appears below.

Extension of regulatory control period - Six-month variation final decision

On 28 October 2020, we released our final decision on United Energy's electricity distribution determination for the six-month extension variation decision for the 2016-20 regulatory control period.  This variation decision was prepared in parallel to the AER's draft determination that will apply for the 2021–26 regulatory control period, which will now commence 1 July 2021.

Extension of regulatory control period - Update on final half year post-tax revenue model

An update to the final half-year post-tax revenue model included in United Energy's electricity distribution determination for the six-month extension variation decision for the 2016-20 regulatory control period has been provided below.
