On 1 July 2005 the AER assumed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) responsibilities for the regulation of transmission revenues in the National Electricity Market. The Victorian network is planned by VENCorp and owned and operated by SP AusNet (formerly SPI PowerNet). The ACCC's review determines the appropriate revenue cap for non-contestable transmission network services provided by SPI PowerNet for a period of 5 ¼ years from 1 January 2003 to 31 March 2008.
