On 26 August 2020, the AER accepted an application from Smart Energy Retail Pty Ltd (Smart Energy) for an electricity retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law).

Invitations for submissions on the application closed on Tuesday, 29 September 2020. The AER received one submission.
