GoEnergy was transitioned to a retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Regulations. A full list of transitioned retailers is available in Schedule 2 of the Regulations.
GoEnergy Pty Ltd was suspended from the Short Term Trading Market by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) with effect from 6:30am (AEST) in Sydney/Adelaide and 8:00am (ASET) in Brisbane on Tuesday 5 April, for failing to comply with AEMO requirements. This constituted a Retailer of Last Resort event under the National Energy Retail Law (NERL).
Under section 142 of the NERL, the AER revoked GoEnergy Pty Ltd’s gas retailer authorisation (AER reference TG12017) with effect from the transfer dates specified above. This means that, for the purposes of section 88 of the NERL, GoEnergy Pty Ltd must not sell gas to a person for premises in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia.
