GoEnergy was transitioned to a retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Regulations. A full list of transitioned retailers is available in Schedule 2 of the Regulations.
GoEnergy Pty Ltd was suspended from the National Electricity Market (NEM) by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) on Friday 1 April 2016 for failing to comply with AEMO requirements. This constituted a Retailer of Last Resort (RoLR) event under the National Energy Retail Law (NERL).
Under section 142 of the NERL, the AER revoked GoEnergy Pty Ltd’s electricity retailer authorisation (AER reference TE12017) from 12am Saturday 2 April 2016. This means that, for the purposes of section 88 of the NERL, GoEnergy Pty Ltd must not sell electricity to a person for premises in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia or Tasmania.
