On 12 December 2013, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved an application from Co Zero Pty Ltd (‘COzero) for an electricity retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law.
Liquidator appointed
On 20 June 2018, The Federal Court of Australia made an order for the winding up of COzero and a liquidator was appointed. The making of an order for the winding up of a retailer and the appointment of a liquidator are RoLR events under section 122 of the NERL.
Under section 142 of the NERL, the AER revoked COzero's electricity retailer authorisation (AER reference E13053) on 2 July 2018. This means that, for the purposes of section 88 of the NERL, COzero must not sell electricity to a person for premises in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia or Tasmania.
