On 28 September 2017, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) accepted an application from Flow Systems Pty Ltd (Flow Systems) for an electricity retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law (Retail Law). Flow Systems is now authorised to retail electricity as and when the Retail Law is adopted in each participating jurisdiction.
The AER sought submissions from interested stakeholders. Consultation on the application closed on 14 July 2017. One confidential submission was received.
Retailer of Last Resort event
On 20 December 2018, Christopher Clarke Hill and Philip Patrick Carter were appointed as voluntary administrators to Flow Systems. The appointment of an insolvency official is a Retailer of Last Resort (RoLR) event under section 122 of the Retail Law.
The AER issued a RoLR Notice under section 136 of the Retail Law. The RoLR notice sets out details of the RoLR event.
The AER decided not to revoke Flow Systems' retailer authorisation at this stage.
Update
On 7 May 2019, the AER amended the RoLR notice in relation to Flow Systems. Flow Systems is no longer under external administration and is trading as usual.
Change of registered business name
On 12 January 2020, Flow Systems Pty Ltd name changed to Altogether Group Pty Ltd.
