On 5 November 2014, the National Competition Council published its final determination approving light handed regulation for Australian Gas Networks’ (formerly Envestra) Queensland gas distribution network.
From 3 February 2015, the AER no longer has a direct role in the regulation of this pipeline. The AER will continue to have a price monitoring role and Australian Gas Networks is required to report to the AER on its access negotiations.
