On 1 July 2020, the AER received an access arrangement proposal from Australian Gas Networks (AGN) for its South Australian gas distribution network for the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. Under the National Gas Law and the National Gas Rules, the AER has the function of reviewing and approving the terms of the proposal. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to consider the indicative dates for key milestones.

Please note this timeline is subject to change. Dates are based on AER receiving compliant proposals and may be altered if non-compliant proposals are received.

Australian Gas Networks is required to submit to the AER for approval a reference service proposal 12 months prior to submission of its access arrangement for the period 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026, due 1 July 2020. The AER received Australian Gas Networks’ reference service proposal on 27 June 2019.

Interested parties were invited to make a submission on Australian Gas Networks’ reference service proposal by close of business on 2 August 2019.

On 25 November 2019 the AER approved the reference service proposal submitted by AGN SA. Details are set out in the AER final decision paper.

On 5 June 2020, we received advice from our Consumer Challenge Panel (CCP24) on Australian Gas Networks (AGN) South Australia's (SA) draft plan in respect of its 2021-26 gas access arrangement proposal (due 1 July 2020).
