On 28 April 2014, Envestra (QLD) submitted to the AER an annual tariff variation notice for the Queensland Gas Distribution System. The tariff variation notice sought to increase 2014-15 network charges for Envestra's (QLD) users from 1 July 2014.
On 25 June 2014, the AER approved the 2014-15 annual tariff variation.
Envestra was rebranded as Australian Gas Networks Limited after a move to full ownership of Envestra by the Cheung Kong Consortium, and the subsequent delisting of Envestra from the Australian Securities Exchange on 17 October 2014.
Australian Gas Networks' Queensland distribution network is now subject to light handed regulation following a decision by the National Competition Council. Under light handed regulation the network operator and customers negotiate access to the network while the AER is available to arbitrate if necessary. The listed financial indicators reflect the access arrangement(s) applicable until this network was moved to light handed regulation. Under the current regulatory approach the AER no longer approves an access arrangement for this network.
