Application

Essential Energy has submitted an application for a waiver of clause 4.2 of the Ring-fencing Guideline (Electricity distribution). This waiver would enable Essential Energy to continue providing contestable technical training to Accredited Service Providers in specific locations in regional New South Wales.

An existing waiver for this purpose is due to expire on 30 June 2024.

Submissions

The AER invites interested parties to make submissions on this an application for ring-fencing a waiver by 21 December 2023.

We prefer that all submissions are in Microsoft Word or another text readable document format. Submissions should be emailed to AERringfencingataer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERringfencing[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) with the subject heading ‘Application - Essential Energy - Ring-fencing waiver’.

We prefer that all submissions be publicly available to facilitate an informed and transparent consultative process. Submissions will be treated as public documents unless otherwise requested. Parties wishing to submit confidential information should: 

  • clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
  • provide a non-confidential version of the submission in a form suitable for publication.
