On 21 May 2015, SA Power Networks submitted to the AER an annual pricing proposal for the South Australian electricity distribution network for the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.
The AER assessed SA Power Networks’ pricing proposal for whether it complies with Part I of the Chapter 6 rules and its 2015-20 preliminary distribution determination. After conducting that assessment, the AER determined that two of the proposed tariffs, the Solar Tariff and the Social Tariff, do not comply with the rule requirements which state that retail customers with a similar load and usage profile should be treated on an equal basis.
SA Power Networks re-submitted an amended pricing proposal within 10 working days after Friday 19 June, the date it received the AER’s determination. SA Power Networks removed the Solar Tariff and Social Tariff from its re-submitted pricing proposal.
On 30 June 2015, the AER published SA Power Networks' approved 2015-16 pricing proposal.
