On 22 June 2023, the AEMC published a consultation paper seeking views on removing the AER’s obligation to develop electricity consumption benchmarks, following a rule change proposal to repeal Part 11 of the National Energy Retail Rules submitted by the AER on 9 May 2023.
The AER responded to the consultation paper with a submission on 20 July 2023.
