On 7 April 2020 the three energy market bodies - the AER, AEMC and AEMO - wrote to the Commonwealth Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction outlining an agreed set of objectives and criteria for considering altering the implementation dates for some key market reforms and rule changes.
On 9 April 2020 the AER, AEMC and AEMO provided a more detailed regulatory work plan for the market bodies and industry.
On 19 May 2020, and following extensive stakeholder consultation feedback, the AER, AEMC and AEMO released further advice on our collective work program, including a regulatory implementation map. The purpose of this framework is to ease regulatory pressure on the energy sector during the COVID-19 crisis while also protecting key reforms underway for energy consumers.
