The AER has published an Overview of the 2017-18 and 2018-19 National Gas Law (NGL) compliance process for service providers of covered gas transmission and distribution pipelines, combining two reporting periods in one report. The process aims to monitor the activities of pipeline operators to ensure that they fulfil the ring fencing requirements and other general duties under the National Gas Law (NGL) and National Gas Rules (NGR).
The AER assessed each report and found that for the 2017-18 reporting period, there were no compliance issued identified. For the 2018-19 reporting period we found that Multinet Gas Distribution Partnership (Mulitnet Gas) was the only pipeline operator to have raised compliance issues.
In its 2018-19 report, Multinet Gas reported one instance of non-compliance related to one confidentiality breach. Multinet Gas has confirmed the implementation of remedial action to minimise future recurrence.
