The AER must to report annually on compliance under the National Energy Retail Law. This is the first annual compliance report from the AER on the Retail Law, covering 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013. The Retail Law commenced in the ACT and Tasmania (for electricity only) on 1 July 2012 and in South Australia on 1 February 2013.
This report explains the AER’s approach to ensuring compliance with the Retail Law, and reports on the specific compliance and enforcement activities we have undertaken throughout 2012–13. The report also identifies compliance issues we have observed, and outlines the steps we are taking now and into the future to address them.
