On 6 December 2024, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) received an application from OVO Energy Pty Ltd to surrender its gas retailer authorisation.

We are now seeking submissions from interested stakeholders on OVO Energy’s gas retailer authorisation surrender application by Monday 13 January 2025. Submissions should be emailed to AERAuthorisationsaer [dot] gov [dot] au (subject: Powerdirect%27s%C2%A0application%20to%20surrender%20it%27s%20authorisation, body: Attention%20of%3A%20Rowena%20Park%2C%20General%20Manager%2C%20Compliance%20and%20Enforcement%20Branch) (AERAuthorisations[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) with the email subject: OVO Energy - application to surrender gas retailer authorisation, and for the attention of: Rowena Park, General Manager, Compliance and Enforcement Branch.

We will take into account submissions in deciding whether or not to grant OVO Energy’s application.

The AER prefers that all submissions be sent in an electronic format in Microsoft Word or other text readable document form and publicly available, to facilitate an informed, transparent and robust consultation process. Accordingly, submissions will be treated as public documents and posted on the AER's website, unless prior arrangements are made with the AER to treat the submission, or portions of it, as confidential. Those wishing to submit confidential information are requested to:

• clearly identify the information that is the subject of the confidentiality claim; and
• provide a non-confidential version of the submission.
