The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) welcomes the Australian Government’s reappointment of Mr Justin Oliver to its Board.
Mr Oliver has been reappointed for a further 5 years after first being appointed as an AER Board member in February 2020 and as Deputy Chair in June 2024.
AER Chair Clare Savage said the reappointment of Mr Oliver provides a strong foundation for the AER and its Board to continue ensuring consumers are better off now and into the future.
“We’re delighted that Justin will continue to contribute his leadership and significant experience to the AER's decision making as the energy transition progresses.
"He will continue to play a crucial role in the AER’s work to support energy consumers,” Ms Savage said.
Prior to joining the AER, Mr Oliver was a partner of MinterEllison and head of the ACCC's regulatory law practice.
For more than two decades, he has acted for governments, regulators and industry participants involved in all parts of Australia's energy sector.
Last month, the AER welcomed the appointment of Ms Kate Symons to its Board following the retirement of Mr Jim Cox PSM.
