On 14 March 2024, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water commenced stakeholder consultation on developing an Electricity and Energy Sector Plan to set out a credible pathway to reach emissions reduction targets in Australia’s electricity and energy sector, while ensuring reliable, secure, and affordable energy supply. The consultation paper was inviting views on aspects of the energy transformation which represent the most material challenges and opportunities for the energy sector.
The AER provided a submission to the discussion paper on 26 April 2024.
