In 2023 we undertook a survey to measure executive, government, industry and consumer advocate stakeholders’ perceptions of the AER. The findings this year were very positive, particularly the AER’s reputation score among government, consumer advocate and industry stakeholders reaching 80% (scoring the AER 7 or higher out of 10).
Key findings
The findings indicate improvement (compared to the 2022 stakeholder survey results) across most key performance indicators, including:
- Leadership and management overall at 84% (up from 75% in 2022).
- Usefulness of reporting on wholesale market activity at 83% (up from 72% in 2022).
- Understanding the needs of energy consumers at 71% (up from 55% in 2022).
- Contribution to the debate about Australia’s energy future and regulatory landscape at 72% (up from 55% in 2022).
