On 27 May 2020, AusNet Services submitted an application under clause 6.6.1 of the National Electricity Rules to the AER for a positive pass–through of costs related to the 2019-20 bushfires. Its application proposes to recover $14.71 million (positive pass–through) from electricity users through an increase in distribution prices in 2021.

We sought submissions on AusNet Services 2019-20 bushfires pass through application over a two week consultation period ending on Friday 19 June 2020. No submissions were received.
Extension of time limit
On 19 August 2020 we issued a notice to AusNet Services extending the time limit for making a decision on its 2019-20 bushfires pass through application in accordance with clause 6.6.1(k1) of the National Electricity Rules. As a result the time limit for making our determination has been extended to 7 December 2020.
