In September 2021, the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) commenced a post-implementation review of the Competition and Consumer (Industry Code – Electricity Retail) Regulations 2019.
On 9 September 2021, DISER published a consultation paper seeking stakeholder views on consumer outcomes of the default market offer (DMO), including electricity prices and engagement in the market, and matters such as DMO timeframes and scope of customer and tariff types covered.
The AER made a submission in response to the discussion paper on 8 October 2021.
