On 4 March 2021, the Reliability Panel commenced consultation on a Review of the Reliability Standard and Settings Guidelines, and invited stakeholders to provide submissions to the consultation paper.
These Guidelines set out the principles and assumptions that the Reliability Panel must use when undertaking its reliability standard and settings reviews.
This review is considering the extent to which these Guidelines are sufficiently broad and fit-for-purpose, particularly given the ongoing transformation of the National Electricity Market and the energy market reforms currently being considered by the Energy Security Board.
On 1 April 2021, the AER provided a submission to the Reliability Panel on this consultation paper.
