Following the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, the Australian Government committed to additional actions to improve the financial outcomes of Australians, including undertaking an immediate review of the coordination and funding of financial counselling services that disadvantaged Australians rely on.
The Review was led by Ms Louise Sylvan AM, with support from the Department of Social Services, and undertaken in consultation with The Treasury and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Issues paper
An issues paper was released on 7 March 2019 to guide input for the consultation process.
The AER provided a submission to this issues paper on 28 March 2019.
