On 11 July 2017, the AEMC initiated a review into the market and regulatory frameworks that underpin reliability in the National Electricity Market (NEM). The review focusses on the efficient investment, retirement and operational decisions made by market participants for reliability purposes.
Issues paper
On 22 August 2017, the AEMC released an Issues paper on its Review to facilitate consultation on the key issues that may be affecting reliability in the NEM.
On 29 September 2017, the AER submitted a submission to the AEMC in response to its issues paper.
